Tables Turn - One of Those People
my post in a Facebook group with the words "Say what you want" in it's title
Everyone has a choice and choices have consequences.
When you choose to support segregation your choice has consequences.
We have passed the time when I was not allowed to eat in a restaurant. I was not allowed to eat in the restaurant but I still entered the restaurant and ordered food. I waited there and I was breathing while I was in there waiting. So you didn't really get rid of my germs. That was imaginary by the way. And then I walked to my car and ate in my car. That was my choice.
Now that people like me are allowed back into restaurants, I have gone back to eating in restaurants again. But the inflation that resulted from paying people to stay home, while they waited for permission to leave their home, from the government, means that I eat at restaurants, a lot less now.
Other people that I know, who are like me, no longer attend these locations because they will never forget that time, when they were discarded. No matter to you that they are valuable people with skill and something to offer. You chose to discard them.
So now that’s less people paying the restaurant and keeping that restaurant in business. That is devastating to the economy. Yes, everyone has a choice, you chose to support segregation and your choice has had consequences. Remember that. Because now you're one of those people.
Maybe it's time to say sorry. But probably not. The economy is crumbling and you still don't want to talk about it.
The group is called “say what you want.” And you are in the group, but you still don't want to talk about it.
