Listen to this Article: How to Recover Mobility After an Injury
Advice from a Certified Yoga Teacher - read by a pleasant Australian AI voice
This is just a quick post with advice for anyone who has suffered an injury that makes daily activities painful. If you have suffered an injury such as an injury to your back, hip, knee (insert body part), then I have some advice to offer you on how you can recover more quickly and get back the mobility that you had prior to your injury. I am not suggesting that this will work in all cases, but I am sure it could be very helpful to most people.
Consider Janet, she was visiting her family and enjoying a game of throwing the beach ball around in the backyard pool. She had not been very active prior to this visit, spending a lot of time sedentary online combating the tyranny of the day, the COVID religion. I hope you enjoy this video by
:As a result of her sedentary lifestyle she suffered a hip injury while whipping her right leg out to the side too quickly. This motion is called hip abduction. This injury continued to worsen as she slept on a pullout couch while visiting her family. By the time she was ready to fly home she could barely walk and this may have contributed to missing her flight. She did eventually manage to get on the plane and get home.
When she returned to her home in another province she found that many regular everyday activities became almost impossible for her. Getting out of the passenger seat of a car was difficult as it required her to abduct her right hip. Getting out of bed and getting up from a chair also became more difficult. This went on for quite some time, and she became sure that there was nothing that she could do to repair her hip.
She finally came to me and I made this suggestion to her:
Move slowly
every motion that is difficult to you is a motion that will likely cause you to repeat your injury making it unlikely you will recover
every motion as mentioned in step 2. must be practiced by you to find a way to do it with no pain or as little pain as is possible. with Janet I suggested that she must find a way to get out of the car without abducting her hip.
If you follow this advice you will notice that the pain will diminish, this is when you can resume abducting your right hip carefully
now that you are recovered do not resume your sedentary habits, practice yoga. Find a yoga teacher who teaches the value of using your breath as a gauge. You can bring this into you daily activities as well. When you are doing an action that has the potential to reinjure, focus on your breath. Breathing slowly and smoothly. If you are holding your breath this is a sign that you are not moving mindfully.
be aware of the harmful effects of the modern diet. I know it sounds unusual for a yoga teacher to recommend, but I recommend a diet centered around eating meat and avoiding processed foods, especially any seed oils, sugars and starchy foods. Big $cience has been promoting that we focus our diet around fruits and vegetables, I suggest to you that the reason they promote this is because it leaves you hungry and malnourished, and weakens your cognitive abilities.
The following 2 shorts from YouTUBE briefly explain the harm caused by removing animal fats like lard, tallow and butter from our diets and replacing them with industrial lubricants which have been bleached to hide their rancidity.
You Should be Obsessed with Seed Oils
